<p>PURPOSE:To prevent abrupt change in the steering feeling due to quick change of the steering torque by controlling motor so as to refill the steering torque, which is applied to the steering wheel in accordance with the output from a car speed sensor and output from a torque sensor. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit controls a motor 8 so as to refill the steering torque applied to a steering wheel 1 in accordance with the outputs of a torque sensor and a car speed sensor SP for sensing the running speed. At this time, the motor 8 is driven on the basis of the predetermined characteristic, and loss in the steering complementing system is compensated. Accordingly the steering torque complementing system consisting of the motor 8, which controls the steering torque so as to refill it during high speed running, and a clutch mechanism and speed reduction mechanism 9 is so controlled as to compensate the loss, that does not form a load requiring of the driver to rotate the steering wheel 1.</p> |
