PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a speed change shock, by a method wherein, when after decision of foot separation up shift, a gear ratio is reduced to a set value responding to a set car speed according to information from a car speed detecting means and a gear ratio computing means, the upshift speed change is started. CONSTITUTION:After decision of foot separation up shift of a speed change gear mechanism A due to transfer to the power off state of an engine E, a speed change timing deciding means C starts the up shift speed change when a gear ratio is reduced to a set value, decided according to a car speed, according to information from a car speed detecting means D and a gear ratio computing means B. Since, as noted above, speed change is started when the gear ratio is reduced to the set value, the speed change is started when at a synchro moment when input rotation of a speed change gear to output rotation is caused to reliably coincide with a value paying consideration to a gear ratio after speed change. The generation of noise due to backlash of a differential gear and the occurrence of a high speed change shock can be prevented. |
