The invention relates to a billet for the production of composite materials, consisting of a tubular outer part and at least one core or inner part and two sealing parts arranged on the end faces of the tubular outer part, and to a process for the production of the billet. For this purpose, provision is made for the sealing parts to project at least partially into the outer part, a surface pressure prevailing on the fitting surfaces, and, in comparison with the material of the outer part, the sealing parts being formed from a material with at least the same coefficient of expansion and with substantially the same deformation resistance, and with a higher softening temperature. The process according to the invention provides for a shrinking of the sealing parts into the tubular outer part with, if appropriate, subsequent evacuation or filling of the residual cavities with inert gas. …<IMAGE>… |
