The derivs., for use in prepn. of cpds. for treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, is made by reacting 2-guanidino 4-(2-methyl 4-imidazolyl) thiazole with an organic zinc cpd. or the zinc salt of an acceptable inorganic acid or a non-toxic organic acid.
