Novel ketones of the general formula in which n is 2 or 3, and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, are obtained by reacting 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-piperazine with a (4-fluorophenyl) ketone of the formula in which X denotes a halogen, e.g. Cl, Br or I, or a -N(alkyl) 2 radical, and n is 2 or 3 when X is halogen and 2 when X is dialkylamino and optionally forming a pharmaceutically acceptable salt. 4<SP>1</SP>-Fluoro-3-dimethylamino-propiophenone hydrochloride is obtained by reacting together pfluoro-acetophenone, trioxymethylene and dimethylamine hydrochloride. Pharmaceutical compositions having neuroleptic and/or analgesic and antiinflammatory action comprise compounds of Formula (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof in association with a pharmaceutical carrier, preferably in forms suitable for oral, rectal or parenteral administration. |
