The shock absorber device consists of a block of metallic material comprising two bases (1 and 2) for receiving the shock and, between said two bases, elongated arms (3), the number, nature and dimensions of which, associated with the conditions of shock, (speed, mass), are such that they determine the attenuation programme of the shock by a dynamic distorsion of the arms by plastic buckling. Said device is incorporated in all systems for protecting persons or equipment of all types. It can also be used for carrying out tests of energy-releasing products (explosion tests) or for performing resistance tests on energy-receiving products (shock tests).
