<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the use of a conventional resin surface material and improve an ornamental effect by embedding the edge part of an ornamental material aslant within a molded substrate and locating the ornamental material on the same plane as the ornament surface of the molded substrate. CONSTITUTION:A trimming material for an automobile, for instance, a molded door trim is formed with an ornamental material 2 consisting of carpet cloth laid on the surface of a molded substrate 1 comprising a thermoplastic synthetic resin. In this case, the ornamental materail 2 is fitted in such a way that the edge part 3 thereof is embedded aslant within the molded substrate 1 and the surface thereof is positioned on the same plane as an ornamental surface embossed on the surface of the molded substrate 1. Furthermore, a stitch pattern 5 comprising a plurality of recesses 5a and 5b is formed on the surface of the ornamental material 2 in the vicinity of a parting line 6 between the ornamental surface 4 of the molded substrate 1 and the ornamental material 2. According to the above construction, a conventional synthetic resin surface material can be eliminated and a product of excellent ornamental effect is obtained at low cost.</p> |
