PURPOSE:To enable the easy and efficient manufacture of a compound piezoelectric body of high performance and high precision wherein electro-magnetic coupling- coefficient is large and acoustic impedance is low, by retaining pillar type piezoelectric members in an integrated body with an organic body composed of organic material, and fixing, in a unified body, a lead member capable of easily fixing lead wires to at least one edge-portion of a piezoelectric plate. CONSTITUTION:On the upper surface of PZT plate 10 of t0 thick, trenches intersecting each other in the form of a mesh are formed, whose width and depth are (w) and d1 (d1<t0), respectively. The pitch of row is (p) and that of column is 2p. Thus, a plurality of pillar type piezoelectric members 12 are formed. The trenches 11 are filled with resin, which is hardened and processed in a specified thickness (t). Lead members 14 are fixed to the parallel edge-portion 10a of the PZT plate 10, in an integrated body with the PZT plate 10, via, e.g., adhesive agent. The pitch P of recessed parts 15 arranged on the lead members 14 is preferably set as follows; the pitch between a pair of facing lead members 14, 14 is P=2np (n is an integer larger than or equal to unity), and the pitch on the same lead member 14 is 2P. The height of the lead members 14 is processed in a specified size (h), and an conducting part 16 whose height is h1 is bored on the upper surface of lead members 14 to which the above recessed parts 15 belong. |
