DECODER OF CHARGED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SETTING ITS INITIAL INFORMATION

PURPOSE:To reduce the viewing available time considerably by constituting a decoder such that the initial setting for a scramble release algorithm required to receive a charged broadcast is attained nearly at the same time when the application of reception is requested in a device sales shop. CONSTITUTION:A charged system decoder 8 is provided with a function as its hardware to release scramble of a video/voice signal. An information input device 23 to apply initial setting to the individual information to release scramble to the decoder 8 separately as a remote controller and an adaptor is provided, the decoder 8 processes the individual information given from the information input device 23 and stores it in a memory 12. A person in charge in a sales shop or the like receiving the application of a charged broadcast reception from a customer in the initial information setting obtains the initial individual information specific to the decoder used from a management center of a broadcast station via a telephone line or the like, uses the information input device 23 to input the information to the decoder and the initial setting is applied in a very short time so as to make the reception of the charged broadcast able to be viewed in a short time.
