A description is given of a sheet-metal flat gasket, particularly for use as an exhaust gasket in an internal combustion engine, the gasket having at least one through opening provided with a sealing element. The sealing element consists of a packed sealing ring which is fixed on the carrier plate by positive engagement. A graphite-filled C-shaped sealing ring is preferably held on the sheet by means of a bead.
