PURPOSE: To connect or separate plural optical fibers by inserting an intermediate piece composed of the optical fiber provided with a slit-like void in a longitudinal direction between the fibers fixed and interrupted in a guide groove formed on a substrate and adhering a detection body on the void. CONSTITUTION: Two normal core clad optical fibers 51 and 53 are fixed in the guide groove by a fiber guide 55 formed on the substrate 50 and interrupted in the range of the guide groove. Between them, the intermediate piece 52 composed of the optical fiber is inserted so as to bring the slit-like void 520 in the longitudinal direction provided in the clad to the opposite side of the substrate 50. Then, a photosensitive detection body 54 is stuck to both fibers 51 and 53 and the tuber intermediate piece 52 by using a transparent adhesive material on the slit-like void 520. Through a coupling area formed by the void in such a manner, light is coupled in the core of the fiber or separated from it and the need of constricting the coupling area is not required there. |
