PURPOSE:To fix an excellent toner image to a toner carrier by forming the surfaces of a heat and press rollers of RTVSi rubber and selecting the surface roughness of the surfaces and temperature difference between both rollers from prescribed ranges. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a heat roller 1 is made of RTVSi rubber of 1mm in thickness and the surface of the press roller 2 is formed of the same Si rubber of 3mm in thickness and surface roughness of both surfaces are set to 0.3mum RZ. Thus the surfaces of both rollers are made to elastic bodies. The rollers 1 and 2 are respectively heated to 140 deg.C and 110 deg.C by means of heaters 3. When the heat roller 1 is heated >=30 deg.C higher than the press roller 2, more effective results are obtained. When a picture is formed by using such constitution, no offset is produced, no change is produced in gloss, and the surface roughness of the rollers is not reflected in the fixed picture even when both-face full-color copies are produced. |
