The invention relates to a quick-clamping device with central centring for fixing a vehicle wheel to the spindle of a balancing machine, with a flange, firmly arranged on the spindle, for the frictional bearing of the rim of the vehicle wheel, clamping means for tightening the rim against the flange, a taper arrangement for engaging in the central centring hole of the rim, and a spring which pre-loads the taper arrangement in the direction of the centring hole. The taper arrangement is designed like a collet, the outer part of which has an outer cylindrical surface for engaging in the centring bore of the vehicle wheel. One of the two parts of the collet has a bearing surface for bearing against the spring, and the other part has a bearing surface for bearing against an abutment. The centring is accurately effected at the cylindrical inner surface of the centring hole of the rim. In addition, no centring errors due to any play on account of tolerances result. ……
