Lifting appliance for assembling heavy vehicle parts

In order to make the assembly of heavy vehicle parts on the underside of vehicle bodies easier for the worker, a lifting appliance is proposed which has a cardanically suspended receiving plate for receiving the vehicle part to be assembled. So that the lifting appliance does not impair the assembly operation under the vehicle, it is equipped with a return device which automatically pulls it back after it is relieved of load to a receiving station for the vehicle parts to be assembled. <IMAGE>
