The invention relates to a rack unit having vertical stands and horizontal rack bottoms, transverse struts or the like which connect the said stands. During depositing and removal of goods, a definite position of the lifting or carrying device with respect to the rack compartments can be maintained in that, facing the front and/or rear of the rack, the stands have undercut guide receptacles having at least one insertion opening for a guide element of a lifting or carrying device.
