<p>A line-scanning detector for aa zonal image in a target detection and following system operating in the electromagnetic spectrum and giving a variable amplitude output signal representing the field of view of the instrument. The output signal is fed to one or more detectors for generating a zonal image, the detector having a gate circuit to select parts of the output signal corresp. to specific segments of the field of view, as well as a synthesis and processing circuit having a quantification unit controlled by the output signal of the gate circuit to give an unambiguous real-time reproduction of each of the selected zones. The reproduction takes the form of a digital representation of the zone. A memry is provided to retain this representation and to compare it with a later representation after further action of the detector and to generate a signal representing the difference.</p> |
