<p>PURPOSE:To produce a long sized contact material for water treatment continuously by forming the contact material so as to protrude many loops of fibers on both surfaces of the material by allowing a part of many loops of fibers protruded on one side of a slender knitted cloth to protrude on another side of the cloth, thus forming the material having many loops of fibers on the both sides. CONSTITUTION:A rotary brush 7 for raising provided in contact with an upper surface of a slender knitted fabric 4 letted-off on a let-off roll 6 at a let-off side of a braiding machine 1 draws out loop-shaped fiber 5c from an upper surface of the knitted fabric 4 leaving a part of the loop-shaped fibers 5b among loops 5a of a rear side of the fabric. Thus, the slender knitted fabric 4 having many loops 5b, 5c protruded on both sides is letted-off continuously, and wound around a winding roll. Sufficiently large space for holding activated sludge is formed by the many loops 5b, 5c protruded on both sides of the cloth 4, so a high contact oxidation effect is attained when the cloth is used by dipping in the water to be treated.</p> |
