PURPOSE:To inexpensively obtain the above cell having excellent heat resistance and excellent perpendicular orientability without exerting adverse influence on a liquid crystal by coating a specific soln. on substrates, then subjecting the coating to a heating treatment at a specific temp., thereby forming the films of a polyimide high polymer on the substrates with transparent electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A glass plate or plastic plate which has a thin film of tin oxide or indium oxide provided on a part or the entire surface of one face as a transparent electrode 12 by a means such as vapor deposition is used as the substrate 11 with the transparent electrode 12. The soln. contg. 0.6-1 diamino compd. and 0.05-0.6 aminosilane compd. in 1 tetracarboxylic acid compd. in molar ratio is coated on the substrate and the coating is subjected to the heating treatment at 30-350 deg.C to form the film 13 of the polyimide high polymer on the substrate 11 with the transparent electrode 12. The cell having the excellent heat resistance and the excellent perpendicular orientability without exerting the adverse influence on the liquid crystal is thereby inexpensively obtd. |
