PURPOSE:To reduce average grain size and to improve the temp. dependency of permittivity by adding CeO2 to a compsn. consisting of prescribed amts. of BaTiO3, Nb2O5 and La2O3 as principal components. CONSTITUTION:A blend of principal components is prepd. by blending 97.0-98.25mol% BaTiO3 obtd. by bringing BaCO3 and TiO2 into a reaction with 0.75-1.50mol% Nb2O5 and 0.50-2.0mol% La2O3. 0.2-0.8wt.% CeO2 is added to 100mol% of the blend and MnO is further added by 0.01-0.3wt.% of the amt. of the blend as required. The resulting blend is mixed, dried and calcined at 1,280-1,360 deg.C to produce a porcelain compsn. having <=5mum average grain size and a high permittivity of 8,000-13,000. |
