Die Webmaschine enthält eine Führungsvorrichtung (12b) für eine Gewebebahn (10), eine zwischen der Führungsvorrichtung (12b) und einem Brustbaum (40) angeordnete Schneidvorrichtung (18) und eine folgende Fixiervorrichtung (16a), wobei alle Aggregate unabhängig voneinander an der Webmaschine angeordnet sind. Durch die unabhängige Anordnung wird die Zugänglichkeit der einzelnen Aggregate für Einstell- und Reparaturarbeiten wesentlich verbessert und es ist ein Einstellen der Schneidköpfe (20) der Schneidvorrichtung (18) in Kettenrichtung möglich. Dadurch kann das Schneiden mit einem Musterrapport synchronisiert werden. Trotzdem bleibt eine gute Führung der Gewebebahn für mustergenaues Schneiden gewährleistet.
