PURPOSE:To simplify a carriage structure and to also reduce the size thereof, by constituting the same so that the rotary shaft of a motor is pierced through a plurality of pulleys and the films of a plurality of head units are run by one motor. CONSTITUTION:All of pulleys 22a-22d for allowing films 23a-23d to run are connected to the rotary shaft 27 of the motor 26 mounted on a carriage 20d and the films 23a-23d are simultaneously allowed to run by one motor 26. However, when four color inks are used in order to perform color recording, four head units equipped with thermal heads, films and ink supply mechanisms are required and it is necessary to mount four motors being driving sources for running the films heretofore. Since four films 23a-23d can be allowed to run by one motor 26 in this case, the whole of the carriages 20a-20d having the films and the pulleys mounted thereon is reduced and a structure can be also simplified. |
