This device comprises a hollow, substantially cubic casing (20), formed by two rigid shells each having a solid base (21) and four recessed walls (22). In each of the side walls (22) is formed a semi- circular inner recess (24) which is extended by an orifice (26) of smaller diameter, this diameter corresponding in practice to that of the bearings of the cross to be protected. The two assembled shells simultaneously surround the central portion of the cross and the inserted portions of the bearings (10) with their seals (14). Furthermore, the casing preferably contains a grease which contributes to sealing its join with the cross, and possibly constitutes a lubrication reserve. <IMAGE> |
