PURPOSE:To provide the title alloy for the low-frequency transformer having a relatively high saturation magnetic flux density and a low iron loss in the low-frequency region by composing the alloy essentially of Fe, Si, and B and further adding >=1 kind among Cu and other specified elements to the alloy in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:The alloy for transformers having the composition in atom% shown by the formula. In the formula, M is Co and/or Ni, M' is >=1 kind of element selected from Nb, W, Ta, Mo, Zr, Hf, and Ti, 0<=a<=0.3, 0.1<=x<=3, 0<=y<=17, 4<=z<=17, 10<=(y+z)<=28, and 0.1<=alpha<=5. At least 50% of the structure consists of fine crystal grains, and the average of the grain diameters measured by the overall dimensions is controlled to <=1,000Angstrom . The remaining crystal grains are preferably composed of an amorphous material. The saturation magnetic flux density of this alloy is >=about 13kG. The alloy is appropriately used for a distributing transformer, and inverter transformer to be used in the low-frequency region, etc. |
