PURPOSE:To obtain ceramics paper which is strong to impact, tensile force and bending force and is imparted with compressive strength by adhering and integrating silicon carbide fibers between the sheets of the ceramics paper, then calcining the same. CONSTITUTION:The silicon carbide fibers are held in place between two sheets of the ceramics paper such as ceramics paper or paper ceramics and these sheets are stuck to one sheet by a special adhesive agent such as, for example, heat resistant inorg. adhesive agent of a one-component thermosetting type. After the adhesive agent dries, the sheet is calcined for about 3-4 hours at 900-950 deg.C in a calcination furnace and is then cooled, by which the desired ceramics paper is obtd. The entire part is integrally converted to the ceramics and a sheet of the paper-like ceramics is formed according to this process for producing the ceramics paper. Since the silicon carbide fibers in particular is used, the paper is strong to the impact, tensile force and bending force and has the compressive strength. The purposes and range of use of this ceramics paper are, therefore, extremely wider than those of the conventional mere ceramics paper. |
