[Also in Divisions C7, H3-5;] The position of a heating inductor 42 relative to the flange of a flanged shaft (not shown) being heated is maintained constant despite thermal expansion. A variable resistor 41 is movable in response to the position of a pin carried by the inductor 42 which engages the flange. The electrical signal from resistor 41 is compared with that from a manual set resistor 50 and the resultant control signal acts on a magnetic valve 48. Valve 48 controls the supply of hydraulic fluid e. g. oil, from a reservoir 47, to a piston 44, 45 carrying the inductor 42.</p> |
