PURPOSE:To continuously hold molten metal to laminar flow and to continuously cast a strip for obtaining a product having excellent surface characteristic by constituting a nozzle supplying molten metal to rotating cooling bodies with the specific shapes of pipe-wise upstream part/bottom part, side wall and roof part. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal 6a in a tundish 1 is supplied to the cooling rolls 3a, 3b through the nozzle 2, to make a hoop-shaped solid metal 6c. Then, the upstream part (a) in the nozzle 2 is made to horizontal straight pipe-wise and the bottom part (b) is horizontal or has inclining angle downward at <=30 deg. angle alpha to the horizontal plane. Further, the side wall (c) is made to almost parabola shape, which is vertex at upstream side and broadens downward and the roof part (e) is arranged to the bottom part (b), and the downstream part is made to almost symmetrical shape in right and left directions to the extending line (f) of the upstream part (a). By this method, the uniform molten metal flow 6b in the nozzle 2 is obtd. and the strip 6c for producing the product having excellent surface characteristic is obtd. |
