PURPOSE:To prevent the overlap of a recording signal and the miserasing of the recording signal of an adjacent track by measuring the slippage of the peak position of the envelope of a signal in a track and an absolute track position and correcting the stoppage position of a magnetic head on the track to be recorded by this slippage. CONSTITUTION:In case of there being the track recorded in the past on a video/ floppy the positioning position of a magnetic head 2 to be positioned at an absolute track position on the other track is corrected by using the difference (slippage) in the absolute track position of the recorded track (reference track) stipulated for by the steel/video/camera on which the video/floppy thereof is loaded. The detecting process of said slippage on the reference track is by the following method. (1) The slippage detection is performed in a track/reserch and the detected slippage is stored in a memory. (2) The slippage of the recorded track adjacent to the track to be recorded is detected on each recording process.
