<p>PURPOSE:To execute efficient smelt reduction of by-products by classifying valuable metal-contg. materials by-produced at the time of stainless steel production to large and small materials, charging the materials through respectively different charge ports into a shaft furnace and simultaneously treating the materials. CONSTITUTION:The slag by-produced at the time of smelting of the stainless steel is classified to lumped slag and powder slag. The powder slag and the powder by-products consisting of the dust, sludge, scale, etc., by-produced at the time of the stainless steel production are housed into a hopper 34. The lumped slag mentioned above is loaded together with a carbonaceous material and steel scrap into the shaft furnace 1 from the top thereof. High-temp. oxygen- enriched air is then fed through upper and lower tuyeres 5, 4 into the furnace. The powder by-products are dried by utilizing the waste gas produced from the above-mentioned furnace 1 and is injected together with the high-temp. oxygen-enriched air mentioned above through the tuyere 5 into the furnace 1. The molten ferrometal is taken out of a tap hole 2 of the furnace bottom.</p> |
