<p>An open-cut-mining milling unit, particularly suited for use with hard minerals, compacted overburden and intermediate layers has a tracked unit with superstructure, substructure, an excavating unit and a conveyor arranged therebehind to take excavated material away. Milling rolls are arranged approximately vertically, but with their upper ends tilted forwardly, to clear the forward areas of the excavating unit. A horizontal milling unit can also be provided ahead of the tracked unit.</p> |
