Plastic sections are arranged as monofilaments with non-textile properties on a loom to form warp threads. They are interwoven with further non-textile plastic weft threads using a pin arm or bobbinless shuttle. A flat braided fabric is thus produced which is continuously drawn off or hemmed laterally by rotating disc knives. The selves are opt. welded simultaneously.
