<p>PURPOSE:To perform fast, high-accuracy data conversion with small memory capacity by correcting representative value data obtained as the high-order digit bits of input data by using the low-order digit bits of the input data and difference data. CONSTITUTION:The memory 26 of a coordinate converting circuit 25 is stored with the representative value data and difference data corresponding to data of specific bits on the high-order side of the input data. An image pickup element 21 picks up an image of a code plate 20, a specific numeric pattern and a striped pattern are read, and their signals are sent to the converting circuit 25. The converting circuit 25 reads the representative value data and difference data out of the memory 26 corresponding to the high-order bits of the input data and corrects the representative value data with the low-order bits of the input data and the difference data to generate output data. Thus, the fast, high-accuracy data conversion is performed with small memory capacity.</p> |
