PURPOSE:To improve supporting rigidity of a pedal bracket so as to prevent generation of vibration, by connecting one end of a pedal bracket to a dash panel and combining the other end of it with the undersurface of a cowl box through a shock absorbing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In an automobile, a cowl box 24 is arranged on the upper part of a dash panel 23 partitioning an engine room 21 from a car room 22, and a box-like pedal bracket 40 supporting an accel pedal 48 and the like is provided on the lower part of the cowl box 24. This bracket 40 is fixed on the dash panel 23 with bolts 41 at the front end part 40a of the bracket. In this case, the upper end part of the pedal bracket 40 is combined with the undersurface of the cowl box 24 through a shock absorbing mechanism 47. This shock absorbing mechanism 47 is constructed so that it is tightenedly fitted with nuts 42 and bolts 44 inserted into long holes 45 communicated with wide holes 46 in the bracket 40, and combination of both 24 and 40 is released at action of a shock load over the prescribed value. |
