PURPOSE:To prevent a character printing to be interrupted halfway by a method wherein, a punctuation point printing is discriminated on the basis of a count value of dot number recorded in synchronism with scanning and the information of character gap and character width when a recording action interruption is directed, and a recording action is interrupted at the obtained punctuation point. CONSTITUTION:Document data formed by a main body equipment 200 is issued to a hand printer 100 through a code 31 when a data ready signal 12 is ENABLE. The document data including printing pitch information of character gap and dot information of character width is stored in a RAM 103. In this manner, a predetermined amount of printing data is stored in a data memory 104, and a printing is started with a start switch 111 turned ON. When the start switch 111 is turned OFF and a recording action interruption is directed, a CPU 101 checks whether presently a character is printed or a character gap is printed by referring to the printed dot number, printing pitch, and character width, thereafter bringing a printing action to a half during the nearest character gap printing after turned-OFF of the start switch 111 to prevent the halfway interruption of a character printing. |
