PURPOSE:To polish a whole thin and round rod easily at a high efficiency by polishing it while rotating the round rod to be machined itself. CONSTITUTION:A semicircular guide groove 2 of a jig 1 including the guide grooves 2 is inclined to the running direction of a polishing belt 3. In this condition, the jig 1 is pushed to a running polishing surface of the polishing belt 3 while a thin diameter round rod 4 to be polished is being inserted from the end on the operater's side of the guide groove 2. Rotation and advance motion are thus applied to the thin and round rod 4, and the peripheral surface of the thin round rod 4 is polished at a high quality by this running polishing surface. |
