PURPOSE:To contrive improvement of fraction of superconducting phase, by specifying an atmosphere of baking process, thus optimizing amounts of respective elements in a sintered superconducting ceramic in a production of baking a composition of raw material components having oxides as constituting components. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting ceramic is produced by baking of, for instance, a composition of raw material components prepared to contain cupric oxide, barium oxide and yttrium trioxide in a molar ratio of 3:2:1, or a superconducting material oxide composition. In the production method, said baking process is carried in an atmosphere of oxide components of at least one of said constituting components, preferably containing a material having large vapor pressure in a mixture of said material components or a composition of said material. By the method, even components having low melting temperature, for instance, cupric oxide and barium oxide are able to be baked without evaporation. |
