PURPOSE:To detect a tensile load and a torsional load with high precision by allowing neither the torsional load nor the tensile load to operate on a load cell and a torque cell respectively, and using the load cell and torque cell in said state. CONSTITUTION:When a tensile load motor is driven to rotate a screw beam 5, a cross head 6 is elevated or lowered by its screw feed operation. The tensile load is therefore loaded on a test-piece 1 through a gripper 2L on its lower side. At the same time, when a torsional load motor 3 is driven, a torsional load is placed on the test-piece 1 through the gripper 2L. The reaction force of the tensile load is transmitted from a gripper 2H on the upper side to a spline shaft 20 through a gripper shaft 10, thrust bearing 15, load nut 24, and load frame 16 and then from the spline shaft 20 to a cross yoke 13 through the load cell 22 and a metallic fixture 23. The cross yoke 13 receives the reaction force of the tensile load and supports it. The load cell 22 detects the tensile load. |
