A system comprises a diesel particulate oxidizer having a trap carrier of a ceramic foam with catalyst, regenerating means, regeneration timing control means, engine state sensor, inhibiting means of retard control signal, temperature detecting means, and particle burning control means. The regenerating means are comprised of fuel injection timing control means for controlling the fuel supply timing to the fuel injection device in the diesel engine. The regeneration timing control means produces the retard control signal for controlling the injection timing of the fuel injection timing control means at promotion of regeneration based on the regeneration timing detecting signal thereof.
