PURPOSE:To read an original in a large size without distortion by providing an original platen where a spot corresponding to a photoelectric conversion means on the upper surface of a housing is a window for reading, a light source on the spot corresponding to the photoelectric conversion means and a gap part housing the original behind the original platen. CONSTITUTION:The original platen 2 provided on the upper surface of the housing 1 incorporating the photoelectric conversion means, where the spot corresponding to the photoelectric conversion means is the transparent window 4 for reading which is arranged on the backward of the original platen 2, the light source 7 on the spot corresponding to the photoelectric conversion means on the upper part of the housing 1 and the gap part 5 housing the original and provided behind the original platen 2 are provided in the title scanner. When the original is larger than the upper surface of the housing 1, optional part of the original in the optional large size can be placed within a read range on the original platen 2 by housing the part of the original which is not read out at present in the gap part 5. Thus, the image of the original in the large size such as stripped plates, etc., can be read. |
