PURPOSE:To obtain excellent image-forming sensitivity and image stability by providing an image-receiving layer through combined use of a high-density and a low-density resin for forming the image-receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A receiving sheet for thermal transfer comprises a sheet base and an image-receiving layer provided on the base so as to receive a dye thermally transferred from a thermal transfer sheet. Further, an intermediate layer may be provided between the sheet base and the image-receiving layer, and a release agent layer may be provided on the surface of the image-receiving layer. The image-receiving layer is provided by joint use of a high-density and a low-density resin for forming the image-receiving layer. The high-density resin is excellent in retention properties for the dye constituting a transferred image and in preservability, whereas the low-density resin is excellent in dyeability. For example, the high density is preferably at least 1.2g/cm<2>, and the low density is preferably not more than 1.1g/cm<2>. Specifically, at least one of a polyester resin, a polyurethane resin, a polyamide resin, a urea resin, a polycaprolactone and the like is used either singly or in combination. |
