PURPOSE: To decompose or mix light beams accurately in terms of a space and in terms of a spectrum by providing a double three-color beam splitter. CONSTITUTION: Optical decomposers 56 and 58 are constituted of glass plates 60 and 62 coated by dichroism films 50, 52 and 54 on one or both surfaces, incident light is reflected or transmitted correspondingly to a wavelength by the respective dichroism films 50, 52 and 54 and the separated components of red, green and blue of incident light beams are reflected by 90 deg. to incident beams and spatially parallelly separated. In order to install a photosensor at a right angle to the optical axis of color decomposed beams, use is performed as the double three-color beam splitter 59 to which a prism 1 is attached, three- color beam splitters 56 and 58 are inversely arranged and the intra-glass optical path length of the color decomposed beams is made equal. Thus, the light beams are decomposed accurately in terms of the space and in terms of the spectrum. |
