PURPOSE:To increase sensitivity and contrast as against high-illuminance short- time exposing and to obviate the generation of scumming by incorporating specific compds. into silver halide emulsion layers consisting of silver chloride and silver iodide. CONSTITUTION:This printing material is constituted by superposing at least respectively one layer of halation prevention layers and the silver halide emul sion layers successively from a base side on a base. The silver halide emulsion layers are formed of >=80mol% silver chloride and <=0.5% silver iodide prepd. in the presence of a water soluble iridium salt and water soluble rhodium salt and at least one kind of the compds. expressed by formula I are incorporated into the emulsion layers. In formula I, Z is the nonmetallic atom group necessary for forming a 5-membered or 6-membered heterocycle; Y denotes a hydrogen atom, alkali metal atom, ammonium group or residual org. amine group. The high sensitivity and the high image quality as well as the printing characteristics having no scumming are thereby obtd. |
