PURPOSE:To surely recognize a divided pattern and to suitably set the reading conditions and image processing conditions by discriminating a sheet region which is a limit part of the divided section by means of a characteristic value which shows the dispersion among image signals. CONSTITUTION:An accumulating fluorescent sheet 103 on which an image is formed by exposing in sections is previously read, and such image signal Sp is input to a signal extracting part 252. The extracting part 252 extracts an image signal Spx concerning a region Fx extending horizontally to the sheet 103, an arithmetic part 253 calculates the dispersion of the signal Spx, and a comparing part 256 regards the region Fx as the limit part of the divided section when the dispersion value is less than the standard value. As for a region Fy which extends vertically to the sheet 103, the dispersion value is compared with the standard value in the same manner. Then, a discriminating part 257 discriminates the regions are divided into four or two or not divided by the signal concerning the regions Fx and Fy from the comparing part 256, and information Sk is fed to a radiation field recognition circuit 220 and a reading control circuit 314. |
