PURPOSE:To confirm operations of a light emitting device easily and accurately by mounting the light emitting device having luminescent substance on a wiring board. CONSTITUTION:When an electric appliance is supplied with power, several number of LED's 1 mounted on a printed wiring board P light ON and OFF according to the operating conditions of the electric appliance. To confirm the operating conditions of each printed wiring board P, a back plate 35 of a cage 31 is removed. At this time, the LED's 1 which are in OFF state emit afterglow. This is how a luminescent substance or luminous paint 6 coating the outer surface of the LED 1 emits light energy, which the adjacent LED 1 absorbed when it was in OFF state, as light gradually even after the supply of the light energy is stopped. Therefore, the location of the LED 1 which is in OFF state can be confirmed easily. |
