PURPOSE:To facilitate the area specification of an original by providing an area specifying assisting member which specifies the area of an original, on a pressing table of an original platen, where the original is placed. CONSTITUTION:The area specifying assisting member 4 is provided on the original pressing table 2 arranged on the original platen glass 1, where the original 3 is placed, and the original 3 can be put in-between the original pressing table 2 and the area specifying assisting member 4. Then, when an area is to be specified, the original 3 is put between the area specifying assisting member 4 and the original pressing table 2. Further, when the original 3 is to be read by the area specifying assisting member 4, it is placed fronts side up, but since when it is actually placed on the original platen glass 1, it is placed front side down, a strip-shaped mark 5, which shows a reference side and an original abutting position display 6 are printed on the area specifying assisting member 4 and the original platen glass 1. Thus the area specifying of the original can be facilitated. |
