<p>PURPOSE:To make paper feeding inexpensive by forming a notch face on the circumference of a pickup roller extending over the full length of the axial direction, feeding the topmost paper to space between a feed roller and a reverse roller each time the said pickup roller rotates, and forming a clearance between the notch face and the topmost paper at time of the stopping. CONSTITUTION:When a pickup roller 10 rotates in an F direction and a corner part 10c of an arcing surface 10b comes into contact with the topmost sheet of paper P, the topmost paper enters its conveyance in an A direction. When it is reached to a nip part between a feed roller 4 and a reverse roller 5, a feed clutch is turned off, and the pickup roller 10 has a notch face 10a opposite to the topmost paper, forming a clearance S between them, and it comes to a stop. In this case, if more than two sheets of the paper A are doubly fed, torque being transmitted to the roller 5 from the roller 4 is transmitted via small frictional force by paper-to-paper contact, so that the transfer torque becomes less than the specified torque of a torque limiter, therefore the paper at the downside is put back in a cassette by way of the clearance S.</p> |
