A filter device has a circular adaptor 13, to which are mounted downwardly projecting filter candles 14, and a head 12 having an outlet nozzle 48 and a feed nozzle 51 which project upwards. Between the head 12 and adaptor 13 is a cavity as outlet volume 66. The feed nozzle 51 is inseparably joined to the adaptor liquid-tightly and mechanically rigidly around the feed port 37 in the adaptor 13. In the event of overpressure pulses in the outlet volume 66, no bypass to the feed nozzle 51 is formed as a result, although the base walls 21 and 46 of the head 12 and adaptor 13 are large in area and have the tendency to bulge out from each other. Between the base walls 21 and 46, rods 56 made in one piece can also be provided as connection pieces which can be put under tensile load. <IMAGE>
