The invention relates to a process, in particular for producing a flow channel having a larger structural part and an inner, sound-absorbing lining part of open-celled, skin-covered foam. To make it easier to produce and to increase its usefulness, the invention proposes that a liquid reaction mixture be introduced into the structural part, serving as a mould, and that then the lining part be formed in the structural part by free foaming. In the case of a flow channel produced in this way, in which the lining part (3) is formed by free foaming in the structural part (2), the skin (4) forming on the foam has a thickness of 100 mu m or less. <IMAGE>
