The objective measurement of fine pulsating automatically or locally regulative changes in vessel width is rendered possible by arranging that, in the case of an arrangement for measurement on the fundus of the eye in which imaging of the fundus of the eye is performed on a CCD row and provision is made of an illuminating beam path for illuminating the fundus of the eye at least in a flashing manner, one and the same image field of the fundus of the eye is imaged on at least two CCD row sections.
