<p>Known picture recording devices for black and white printing only and picture recording devices with colour printing capabilities are structurally complex or consume large quantities of inking ribbon when printing black and white text with coloured picture sections. To achieve the simplest possible design combined with minimal consumption of inking ribbon in the field of office communications in which the ratio of black and white to colour printing is high, two picture recording devices (50, 51), one (51) containing a black inking ribbon (27) and the other containing a coloured inking ribbon (54) (possibly with several colour sections), are superimposed. The two devices have facing inlet and outlet openings (40, 43) for transferring recording sheets (9) to be printed in black and white with additional coloured picture sections from one device (50) into the other device (51).</p> |
