An oil filter (50) securable to an engine mount (62) comprises a cylindrical housing (52) with a closed and an open end, with a set of circumferentially spaced flanges fixed inside the open end of the housing to lock with a second set of flanges formed on the mount. Each flange in the housing engages removably a corresponding flange on the mount. A seal (64) is located circumferentially between the housing sidewall at the open end and the mount, and is pref. an O- ring located between the mount and the housing interior or exterior.
